12 ON YOUR SIDE: Tax return debit card fake phone number

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)- Virginia tax payers are looking for answers to questions about the new state tax return debit cards.

Recognize this number? 888-555-1212. Maybe you've seen it in TV info-mercials. It's also on some 'Way2Go' debit card statements.

Christa Vidonic called the number angry about built-in charges. She didn't get customer service.

"You get an operator saying that it's invalid when you try to call it," said Vidonic. "That was probably the kicker for me."

•  How did a dummy number get on official statements?

"When Xerox was setting up their go program card holder account statement, they put a dummy number in there as a place holder," said Joel Davison, PR manager for the Virginia Department of Taxation. "Their developer never replaced those with the real numbers, unfortunately."

12 INVESTIGATES: Mo' Money Taxes in more trouble with the Justice Dept

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)- Mo' Money Taxes is in more trouble - The Justice Department filed a lawsuit Wednesday to shut down the company and its owners, claiming they victimized the public

"I'm a victim, just like the people. I'm waiting, just like they waiting," said Markey Granberry in 2012.

You may remember, hundreds of people in Virginia had huge problems getting their tax returns out of Mo' Money last year. They lined up, but checks bounced. Police in Norfolk even had to control crowds. There were two offices in Richmond; one on Belt Boulevard, the other on Hull Street.

"I asked them not to send my preparations off and they did. They actually tried to send it three times," said Shusonya Whitaker last year.

The federal lawsuit is 53 pages long. It's to stop Mo' Money and its owners from operating.

12 INVESTIGATES: USPS Adding Mail to Sandston Plant

SANDSTON, VA (WWBT)- The U.S. Postal Service says its plans to close the Norfolk plant, and bringing all that mail to Sandston for sorting will not mean new jobs.

Just two years ago, 12 Investigates uncovered problems with sorting at the Sandston plant.

Can the plant handle the increased work load?

Sandston opened in 2009. Soon after, mail from Charlottesville was thrown into the mix and the Sandston plant was instantly plagued by problems.

Magazines went undelivered for weeks even though they were already on news stands. Mail was stacked in baskets - untouched, and often miss-marked for delivery.

In the fall of 2011 - according to a postal audit - Sandston was considered the worst in the country for delaying your mail.

In the last three months of 2012, the top congressional leadership spent nearly $30,000 on bottled water, coffee, and catering from restaurants and grocery stores.

Speaker of the House John Boehner spent the most - more than $11,000 on food and drink. More than $2,200 was just for coffee in October, November and December.

Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy spent more than $9,000 - including a $2,500 bill at Qdoba in October.
