Hanover County invites all to attend an inspiring celebration of the Spirit of Volunteerism, designed to highlight the invaluable contributions of all volunteers throughout our county. The 2012 Spirit of Volunteerism Celebration will be held on Tuesday, May 1, at 7 p.m. at Hanover High School.
Hosted by the Hanover County Board of Supervisors, in cooperation with Hanover Department of Community Resources, this celebration will include entertainment, presentation of awards, and an opportunity for volunteers to be collectively acknowledged for their service. Light refreshments will be provided through a partnership with Hanover public schools and the Culinary Arts students from the Hanover Center for Trades and Technology.
This year’s guest host will be Patience Salgado, "The Kindness Girl". Patience Salgado is a kindness worker, writer, and documentary birth photographer living in Richmond. She has served as a parenting columnist for RVANews, blogged for PBSParents.org, been featured in O Magazine and is currently blogging for the Huffington Post. Her national kindness campaigns have inspired thousands to embrace simple acts of kindness in their communities and lives.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Hanover High School is located at 10307 Chamberlayne Road in Mechanicsville.
